These days, there are multiple types of mascara available on the market. However, one of the most popular types of mascara today are the waterproof products. As detailed below, there are multiple reasons why waterproof mascara is beneficial and popular amongst women of all ages.
Detailed in its name, the most beneficial aspect of waterproof mascara is that it is, indeed, water proof. This means that it does not come off in water, and is tougher to get off with just water alone. While this may mean that your mascara is a little more difficult to remove, the benefits of waterproof mascara far outweigh the time and effort it takes to remove it. With the use of a little eye-makeup remover or soap, your eyes will be clean and ready for another application in no time.
If you find yourself watching a sad movie, or letting emotion overcome you for another reason while wearing waterproof mascara, you will be pleased to find that it will not drip down your face. However, sometimes even the strongest and best brands of waterproof mascara can be slightly broken down by the salt in your tears, if there is a good amount of them. Usually though, waterproof mascara can proudly withstand a good cry.
Waterproof mascara is also known for not running or smudging when the weather is humid. Depending on where you live, and the climate you experience on a daily basis, this can be a major benefit. In certain humid areas, mascara can come off quite easily due to the heat and moisture in the air, allowing it to run and smudge off of your eyelashes causing dark circles around your eyes. Rain is another weather factor that can affect mascara. Besides the fact that the rain can help to remove mascara that is non-waterproof, but the rain can also create humidity in the air which can also make mascara run and smudge.
If you are a person that typically rubs your eyes throughout the day, you likely experience your mascara smudging across your eyes, giving you that unsightly, raccoon eye look. Waterproof mascara is known to not smudge when you rub your eyes either!
The benefits of wearing waterproof mascara include being able to apply your mascara only once and not having to worry about it for the rest of the day. Non-waterproof mascara often needs to be re-applied to keep it looking as good as it did when you first applied it.
Waterproof mascara caters to many women, including businesswomen. Waterproof mascara allows them to confidently get through their day without worrying about their mascara running, or their eyelashes looking thin and unpleasant as the latter part of the afternoon rolls around. Business and career women are often to busy and preoccupied to have the time to stop and reapply their mascara and other make up throughout the day
Waterproof mascara is also handy for when you are at the gym or practicing other sports. It is so easy to sweat away regular mascara, causing it to run and smudge as your body heat rises. Regular mascara can usually "melt" right off your eyes as it is washed away with your sweat. Waterproof mascara does not present this problem, as it stays put throughout your entire work out keeping you looking as fresh as you did when you walked into the gym.
If you are going to use waterproof mascara, it is important to note that if you want to curl your eye lashes, that you do so before applying the waterproof mascara. This order helps to create the appearance of lusciously long and full eye lashes.
When applying your waterproof mascara it is important to make sure that the brush is clean and free of any debris or dirt. The brush should be covered in mascara thoroughly as you place it at the base of your eyelashes, closest to your eye lid on the inside, and pull straight through to the end. This process will cover your entire eye lash evenly. Move the brush over and slightly overlap the area you have already applied mascara to. Repeat this procedure until your entire eye lash is covered.
If you want to apply water proof mascara on your bottom lashes, try to use the tip of the water proof mascara brush and sweep it across your bottom lashes, emulating the idea of coloring with a marker.
If you are partaking in any activities where your mascara might smudge or run, it is a great idea to invest in waterproof mascara. If you are one that is to busy to have to re-apply your make-up multiple times a day, then it is also a good idea to being using waterproof mascara to make your life just a little bit easier.
Waterproof mascara, when applied correctly, will not clump your eyelashes together. Instead, it will provide you with a full fan of spectacular individual eye lashes. There are many brands and types of water proof mascara available on the market, so be sure to choose one that is perfect for you!

QUESTION:
What is a highly waterproof/smudgeproof drugstore mascara?
Right now I'm using Maybelline Define-A-Lash's waterproof formula, it's great and it doesn't come off, but it's very natural... I'm looking for something a little bit more dramatic, with more volume. I bought the Voluminous Carbon Black in waterproof and it smudged under my eyes wayyy too much for my liking. I've also tried Covergirl Lashblast waterproof, and it stayed on but didn't wow me. Thanks in advance!-
ANSWER:
I can't remember what it's called, but it's by maybelliene. The non waterproof one is pink, with a light green lid. But next to it will be a waterproof one, which is also extra black which is a pink tube and black lid. It's the best drugstore mascara, and i've gone on holiday like underwater and stuff and it hasn't even smudged and i like volumised eyelashes and i use that

ANSWER:
I use this loreal two in one (red and white) one but only use the red side (black mascara) and once i apply that after curling my lashes i think they look perfect. You can also try combining two mascaras together so long as each serves a different purpose e.g lengthening, curling, defining, volumising by using a coat of each and getting the best of both worlds if it's tricky to decide or you want a greater effect. 'Bad gal' and 'they're real' by benefit are brilliant. Falsies is very good too. Of the ones you have mentioned, they all sound good, go for either but i would avoid the third one as it sounds very lengthening and isn't what you're after! I hope this helped, best of luck finding the perfect one for you my lovely xo

QUESTION:
Whats the best Mascara for my eyes?? Lengthening, thickening, volumising, curling?
I am trying to find the best and cheapest mascara for my eyes. I have tried lots of different mascaras, but I want to be able to go to the shop and get the same one(s) everytime, instead of having to try different ones everytime I go.
My eyelashes aren't naturally curved, I have to use a curler everytime before I use mascara. They aren't that long, but aren't really short. They point straight forward (which is why i have to use the curlers), and some mascaras (usually really wet ones) just make them droop back down, even after using curlers.
I saw on a beauty site somewhere that you should first apply a good lengthening mascara, and then apply a good thickening one over that one. But then there are curling mascaras (I haven't tried alot of those) and volumising ones (which supposedly do all three - lengthen, thicken and curl). There are that many products out there that I don't know which one is best! Right now I am using about 4 different ones everytime, which is ridiculous, expensive and faffy! I also always use waterproof mascara as it works best for my eyes and I don't want it coming off in the rain, and I always use a dark black shade. So basically, I need one that is waterproof, cheap, does the job, and won't dry out too quickly.
Here is a list of mascaras I have used over the years:
MAYBELLINE GREAT LASH WATERPROOF -
Advantages - great price, doesn't dry out too quickly, lasts a while, has quite a bit in the tube compared to others (12.7ml), very waterproof, ok coverage.
Disadvantage - can make eyelashes stick together, makes them slightly hard instead of soft and curly, have to put on quite a bit to get a black effect, brush not that big, not very thickening or lengthening, can make eyelashes 'spidery'.
RIMMEL 100% WATERPROOF -
Advantages - ok price, fairly good sized brush, waterproof, good coverage on first application.
Disadvantages - dries out quite fast, doesn't last too long, can clump up eyelashes after a few applications, not a very black, black effect, not as much in tube (8ml).
MAYBELLINE DEFINE-A-LASH WATERPROOF -
Advantages - waterproof, a good black effect, thickens fairly well, seperates quite well, ok at lengthening, fairly cheap.
Disadvantages - not alot in tube (6.5ml), an annoying brush (spikey), can clump, doesn't last that long, can make eyelashes look 'spidery'.
MAXFACTOR MASTERPIECE WATERPROOF -
Advantages - waterproof, fantastic at lengthening, seperates lashes well, great as a base coat, does what it says on the tin.
Disadvantages - expensive, not a lot in the tube (4.5ml), dries out fairly fast.
2 TRUE INSTANT WATERPROOF MASCARA (think this is just available just at Superdrug) -
Advantages - very cheap (around £2), good big and thick brush for coverage, great as a base coat, an ok thickener but only after a few applications, waterproof.
Disadvantages - not a lot in tube (7ml), doesn't hold as much mascara on the tube as wanted (have to apply a lot of coats).
MAYBELLINE COLOSSAL VOLUM' EXPRESS WATERPROOF -
Advantages - waterproof, great as a base coat, gives fairly good length, fairly thick, quite cheap, quite a bit in tube (10ml), does give a bit of volume, big brush.
Disadvantages - can clump after a few applications, can makes eyes a bit 'spidery' if you don't apply another mascara over the top afterwards, brush is big, but has annoying bristles.
BARRY M EXTREME BLACK WATERPROOF - Volumises, Lengthens, Thickens -
Advantages - waterproof, good as a thickener, black effect and keeps quite a bit on the brush after it comes from the tube, fairly big brush.
Disadvantages - not as much in tube (8ml), fairly expensive, can give you 'spidery eyes', brush is quite big but has annoying bristles, can clump up on brush.
MISS SPORTY FABULOUS LASH WATERPROOF -
Advantages - great price (around £2), good brush (long, thick and thin at the end for coating more lashes), great coverage, black effect, good as a base coat, quite a good lengthener, holds quite a bit on brush after coming from the tube, waterproof.
Disadvantages - doesn't last as long as wanted, not as much in tube (8ml), can sometimes give a 'spidery' eyed look, doesn't seperate as much as wanted.
So, the best lengthening would be the Maxfactor one, but it is expensive. The best of the cheap is def the Miss Sporty one and probably gives the best coverage and thickness. They are all good, but as I said I have to apply different ones to get a good effect (start with the Maybelline Colossal, then the 2 True, then the Miss Sporty, then sometimes the Barry M after that). I don't know which one(s) to stick to and which ones to ditch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I also saw on a beauty site somewhere that you can do something called 'Minking'. This is where you apply a brown mascara as a base coat (from roots), then a black mascara over the tips, and this will make them look thick at the base and long at the ends. Which is a good idea, but I've never tried it and wouldn't know which ones to use! I saw a Miss Sporty Cocoa mascara which might be good. I need to find the best and cheapest one instead of buying millions and using loads at the same time, everytime.-

QUESTION:
I want a fake lash looking mascara?
I really want a mascara that gives a fake lash look, its waterproof and it doesn't flake, clump or smudge throughout the day, the problem i find with mascaras its not that i can't get the desired effect but after a couple of hours because i have combination skin I find black smudges just beneath my lower lashes (where dark circles could be). Also a key factor is the price I really don't want to spend anymore than £8. The last mascara I had was the maybelliene Great Lash, it gets them high and curly, but they look like spiders and smudges terribly! Even though I had heard such rave reviews. The mascara I have used to date with the most success is the Maybelliene define-a-lash, which was fab at lengthening but wasn't very good at thickening.
Oh plus I'm in the U.K and MAC is extremely hard to get, and I've never in seen cover girl in the shops.-
ANSWER:
I swear by my false lash effect
its so amazing, its about 10 pounds, and you can get it in waterproof. it makes your lashes really dark and long and thick its amazing, Rimmel falselash effect x its gorgeous

QUESTION:
makeup help! brands, prices, i need help!?
im looking for some new makeup. cheap but good quality like covergirl or maybelline. i also like almay. stuff that i can find at walmart or target.
FACE:
Liquid Foundation - right now i'm using cover girl clean makeup foundation which i got at dollar general for like 4$. i'm thinking about getting maybelline dream liquid mousse. do you know how much it is? but then i was thinking of maybe getting almay smart shade. how much is that? well any good LIQUID foundations that i could get at walmart? and please ones that wont clog my pores and make me break out. (i break out very easily)
Powder Foundation - i use bare minerals powder foundation. which is great, but ill be out soon. and i dont really want to have to pay another buttload of money for powder foundation. so any good ones? i also have a cover girl fresh pressed powder foundation but i dont really like it that much. keep in mind i have really oily skin...
Blush - im not using any blush right now but i'd like to get some. i kind of want liquid, and ive heard almay smart shade liquid blush is great. so any reviews on that? cost?
Concealer - right now i have cover girl liquid concealer, a cove girl stick concealer, maybelline stick concealer, and another maybelline stick concealer. so yes i do have a bunch of concealers. and I NEED THEM! but the maybelline ones work best and their almost out. and i really really really want a waterproof concealer. are there any out there?
EYES:
Mascara - i use Great Lash very black washable mascara. i got a two pack for about 5 bucks. so im almost dont with the first tube. i like it alright. i just really want a waterproof mascara. a good one but cheap.
Eyeliner - i use physicians formula eye definer round tip. its kinda old and almost gone. its like this grey almost black color. and i also have this cheap double sided (black and then white) eyeliner pencil i got at walmart for like a buck and it sucks. i use the black side for my upper lid and then i use the physicians formula for the bottom. the reason i like it, is because it look like you dont have a lot on which is nice because i dont like to wear a lot of eyeliner. but it smudges and comes off really easily. so a good eyeliner would be helpful. but no liquid liners...i cant stand those.
makeup remover...
right now i use oil free eye makeup remover. its great but its almost gone. and i dont want to get it again because its expensive. do like regular equate makeup wipes work? i just need something cheapish (under 10$) that will remove waterproof mascara and eyeliner well without doing anything bad to my skin.
well thanks fr reading all this! please include brands and prices.
im gonna go to walmart this weekend and i hope i come out with most of the stuff i need!-
ANSWER:
Ok here it goes
Foundation// The almay smart shade foundation- This stuff looks hella odd coming out of the tube... like a white cream with tiny black dots in it. Its appearance reminds me a bit of a facial scrub, but it doesn't feel at all grainy going on. There are 3 shades to choose from: Light, Light/Medium, and Medium, but the display only provides a tester for the Light/Medium shade. This product is supposed to "take the guesswork out of finding the right shade", so I suppose they figure one tester is enough. The shade match really was dead on, and most importantly, the finish was extremely natural looking. This is the most skin-like foundation I've tried to date! I was also impressed by the coverage -- this is definitely a light coverage foundation, but it was a notch more than the super sheer tinted-moisturizer-esque coverage I was expecting. It's cost was 15 dollars on sale I believe. Well worth it.http://www.almay.com/Pg/Main/CatProdDet.aspx?catid=31&catnm=Face&subid=233&subnm=Foundation&prd=28636&osubnm=Foundation
Powder// I like the Covergirl MicroMinerals Trublend powder. I used to use Bare Minerals too. But I stopped and I either use this or my Matte Dream Mousse. I mixx it up so my skin doesn't "panic" with certain products. It's like 10 dollars (prices will vary in Target or Walmart from state to state) But it lasts a while an is good quality. http://www.covergirl.com/products/product.jsp?productId=trublend_microminerals_foundation
**Do you need both liquid and powder foundations? Your skin is oily so maybe try using a liquid (or mousse) and a pressed powder like what you have (maybe a different one that you would like), just a suggestion..the more product that goes on your face can cause oily skin. Because the Almay is a lighter foundation you could combine this with a powder and not be too heavy on the coverage.**
Blush// I was NOT a fan of the smart shade blush. It doesn't hae any glitter in it. It seems blendable but I'm not a fan of liquid blushes. I have this fear of a cakey cheek. Smart shade blush was 12 dollars when I saw it last =/ but there are a few powder blushes that I love.
Trucheeks by Covergirl is what I use Trucheeks 1- http://www.covergirl.com/products/product.jsp?productId=trucheeks_blush It has some shimmer in it that I love. It has a dark medium and light color it's like 5 dollars, maybe cheaper. Lasts me forever when I use a contoured blush brush.
I like the dewy look and peachy colors take a look. Concealer// I like Maybelline's cover stick waterproof they used to sell it on their site now I can only find it here http://shopping.msn.com/prices/maybelline-cover-stick-waterproof-concealer-medium-beige/itemid28786258/?itemtext=itemname:maybelline-cover-stick-waterproof-concealer-medium-beige
The maybelline natural perfecting concealer is nice too. But not waterproof. http://www.maybelline.com/Product/Face/Concealer/Mineral-Power-Natural-Perfecting-Concealer.htm
*EDIT* I forgot Almay's smart shade concealer. Pretty swell too just a little more pricy* Same feeling as foundation. I like it but it isn't good for major imperfections, just minor ones. http://www.almay.com/Pg/Main/CatProdDet.aspx?catid=31&catnm=Face&subid=229&subnm=Concealer&prd=29412&osubnm=Foundation
Mascara// I like Full'n Soft waterproof by Maybelline http://www.maybelline.com/Product/Eye/Mascara/full-n-soft-waterproof-mascara.htm
AND the intense XXL Volume one waterproof http://www.maybelline.com/Product/Eye/Mascara/intense-xxl-volume-and-length-waterproof-microfiber-mascara.htm
Both are cheap like 4 or 5 dollars at target and walmart
Eyeliner// This one is waterproof and smudge free crayon/pencil "Unstoppable" (By Maybelline again!)http://www.maybelline.com/Product/Eye/EyeLiner/unstoppable-eye-liner.htm
"Line stylist" is also nice since you like a thin line, it's a little more precise. http://www.maybelline.com/Product/Eye/EyeLiner/line-stylist.htm
Both are inexpensive. 4 or 5 dollars again. Maybelline is relatively inexpensive and a good quality.
Makeup remover// Neutrogena's eye makeup remover is very gentle. It always takes off my waterproof liquid eyeliner. I reccomend ANY Neutrogena remover. http://www.neutrogena.com/econsumer/ntg/teensearch.view?segment=teen&searchType=product&query=makeup%20&whatsNewCategory=
Good luck! I hope you find all the products you need and want

What is the BEST MASCARA EVER?
limit. I have currently tried: Maybelline Great Lash, Maybelline The Falsies, ELF Essential Eyelash Duo, and Wet n Wild Megaprotein. My favorite so far is Maybelline The Falsies. QUESTION:
I need opinions on your favorite mascara, eyeliner, concealer, perfume, etc. HELP!?
Okay I need to buy some new make up & whenever I go, there are always so many to chose from. I've tried a lot of different kinds and found a few that I liked but none that I loved. Please let me know some of your favorites, and maybe why they are your favorite.Oh & btw I have blue eyes, pretty light skin which can be oily some days and dry other days lol, & brown curly hair that can get pretty frizzy.
Okay, I need:
-Mascara that SERIOUSLY doesn't clump. I want thick, long lashes with no clumping. & waterproof would be nice for the summer, but if it's not waterproof it's fine.
-Brown eyeliner to compliment my blue eyes. I usually use black but everyone says that brown is better for blue eyes but I've never found a brown eyeliner that is dark enough. They're always so light it's like you're not wearing anything at all. I like the pencils better then the liquid but I'm open minded.
-Good waterproof eyeliner, whether it is brown or black I just would love not having it all over my face after going swimming.
-Some really good under eye concealer for the dark circles I sometimes get under my eyes after not getting enough sleep. I have some by Almay I think but it's liquid and it doesn't really last more then 6 hours. Plus, I have to use a lot for it to cover the circles. Any suggestions? I think I would rather something besides a liquid, but whatever works is great.
- A self tanner for my whole body with no streaks, no terrible smell, & that actually looks natural. I have this stuff by Nivea that is just for your legs. I used it & it made my legs look pretty good, not many streaks but once I took my socks off there were blotches of orange and it looks terrible & gross & it was so hard to get off because I don't shave my feet lol. So if anyone knows something that actually works and doesn't leave me orange or streaky, please let me know.
-A self tanner for my face that won't make me break out.
-A really great bronzer.
-Something to tame my unruly hair. Something that doesn't make my hair really hard or make it clump together. I would love something that would help the frizz and maybe also the tangles? I've tried Frizz Ease and it works pretty good but it doesn't last very long and it always makes my hair clumpy in the back.
-Some great smelling shampoo & conditioner that would also tame my unruly hair
-Some concealer that would even out my skin. My skin is kind of different colors in some places, like it's a little red. I'd like something to make it all one color. Right now I'm using some kind of powder by Covergirl. It works but I go through it so fast and I usually have to reapply it halfway through the day. I don't like the liquids so I'm open to anything except if it's liquid.
-Hand lotion that makes my hands really soft & smells good too.
-Foot lotion that makes my feet soft.
-Some really amazing smelling perfume that isn't too too expensive. Right now I have Unforgivable by Sean John, Curious by Britney Spears, CK One & the Very Sexy perfume by Victoria's Secret. I absolutely love the one by Victoria's Secret, & the one by Sean John smells really good but it usually smells too strong at first no matter, but after 30 minutes it smells really good. So let me know your favorites!
Even if you just have a suggestion for one of those things still let me know. I love hearing your opinions. I really need some new make up & stuff and I feel like this could be a good way to get some really good shit. I just hope people still read it even though it was long.
THANK YOU!

Alright, thats a lot of stuff, but I will try to help you. This also depends on how much money you want to spend on this makeup. I will give you good options for a budget, and an option for if it doesn't matter about $$.For mascara that doesn't clump, and makes your lashes gorgeous, I would get the Lash Blast by Cover Girl. It is amazing, and can be found at any drugstore. If you don't mind spending a bit more money on a product, I would get the DiorShow mascara by Dior. It makes your lashes so long, non-clumpy, and gorgeous! You can get it from Sephora for about , which is a bit pricey, but worth it.
For a dark brown eyeliner, I would definitely get the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner. It is or dollars, but so worth it. You can get it at Sephora or Ulta. It is so pigmented, it just goes on so smooth, and, it lasts all day. For a cheaper alternative, I can't help you there. All drugstore eyeliners for me--not very good.
My favorite waterproof eyeliner is the Sephora brand "Flashy" eyeliner. There is a huge variety of colors, and its only .00. You can get it at Sephora.
My favorite concealer is the Laura Mercier concealer. Its a bit pricey, but so worth it. If you don't want to spend that much, go to a drugstore and get the Maybelliene concealer stick. It works very well (not as good), too.
Self tanner? I have yet to find a good one. However, I tried the Sally Hansen leg tanner, which worked well, but its only for legs. I've heard a lot about this tanner: http://www.sunlove.biz/ It is a bit pricey, but I saw a review on YouTube, and it seems pretty good. You can only get it online tho. YouTube review:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nmIneXIN3E&feature=channel_pageSelf tanner for face? See ^^
The best bronzer EVER EVER EVER is the Nars Laguna Bronzer. I have yet to find anything better, and there are no good drugstore bronzers that I know of. Nars Laguna is expensive, but so worth it. It looks amazing on everyone's skin tone, and just...WOW.
There is almost no way you can tame your hair w/ hairspray, or any products so it won't get crispy. For the frizz, I would get the Got2Be Smoothing Lustre Lotion. It is a good price, doesn't make your hair hard or clumpy, and gets rid of all frizz. For hairspray to tame your hair, my fave is the TreSemme Tres Two Hairspray. It makes your hair crunchy, but, there isn't a hairspray that won't. You can get both of those at any drugstore.
Shampoo and conditioner? I use a lot of more higher end shampoos and whatnot, but, for a cheaper one, my fave is Herbal Essences. They work well, and smell amazing!
Concealer? Same as the one I mentioned above
Hand/ Foot lotion: My fave is the PINK Body Lotion. It smells amazing (you can get it at Victoria's Secret), and within a half hour, you will feel a difference with the softness of your skin. You only need to use a little bit, so the lotion lasts FOREVER. Seriously.
Finally, perfume. I would recommend the Victoria's Secret Sexy Little Things Noir. Its not too much, but it still smells nice. (:
Done!
Hope I helped & Good Luck!
xoxo,
Erica

QUESTION:
i need to adjust my makeup routine for summer. what is your daily makeup routine?
hey guys
so, i know summer's here now and i need to change up my daily makeup routine because my activities will be changing. this includes the beach, swimming, tanning and unfortunately a lot of sweating. i would like to find a good light weight foundation and a highly concentrated concealer to cover blemishes. i don't need to change my mascara, because i am very addicted to covergirl's lash blast waterproof. it works wonders for my lashes and i use it every day. i only want drugstore products, nothing over about for an individual item.my current daily makeup routine-
1. wash my face with clean and clear morning burst cleanser
2. apply st ives timeless skin moisturizer and burt's bee's lip balm
3. apply hard candy's face primer (it's called sheer envy)
4. apply concealer using my annabelle concealer wheel and a cover stick from NYC
5. go over any areas again with the concealer
(i do not use pressed powder, my skin in too dry)
6. apply MAC's mineralized skin finish and bronzer
7. prime my eyes by doubling up my face primer (hard candy sheer envy)
8. apply my eyeshadow (iusuallyyfavourr covergirl because they last longest on my eyes)
9. line my upper lash line with annabelle kohl eyeliner (black)
10. line the outer half of my lower lash line with annabelle kohl eyeliner (black)
11. curl my lashes and apply last blast waterproof
12. apply my lip color. (i always stick to neutral shades, and am latelyfavouringg hard candy's painted lady lipstick in fire alarm.. the name doesn't overly match the color)so, i would like for you guys to tell my what your daily routine is, and helpful ways to change mine
also, have any of you ordered from the MAC website? if so, was shipping expensive and how long did it take?lastly, have any of you ever tried MAC fix+ ? good, bad, great, terrible?
thanks so much!-
